Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Revenant LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Spoilr," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the Spoilr mobile app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Spoilr. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and notify us at contact@spoilr.xyz if you suspect unauthorized use. You may delete your account at any time using the in-app Delete Account option.
3. What Spoilr does (and its limits)
Spoilr is a companion that answers questions about shows, films, games, and books, limited to the progress point you set, to help you avoid spoilers.
Spoiler-gating is a best effort, not a guarantee. We work hard to keep answers within the boundary you set, but Spoilr relies on AI and imperfect source data and may occasionally surface information you consider a spoiler, or be inaccurate or incomplete. You use Spoilr understanding that we cannot guarantee a spoiler-free experience, and you set your progress at your own discretion.
AI-generated content. Responses are generated by AI and may be wrong, outdated, or misleading. Do not rely on Spoilr for professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical advice. See our Privacy Policy for how your messages are processed by AI providers.
4. Subscriptions, auto-renewal, and billing (Apple App Store)
Spoilr offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions. On iOS, purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase, and the following apply:
- Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown in the app at purchase.
- Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region. We may change prices for future periods; changes do not affect the current paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we generally cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula, which applies to the extent it is not inconsistent with these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service except as permitted by law;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission;
- use the Service to generate or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Spoilr has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. The app provides tools to report any piece of feed content (report options are available on every post) and to block any content account so its posts never appear in your feed again. Reported content is removed from serving immediately pending human review, and reports and blocks notify our moderation team, who act on objectionable material promptly — within 24 hours of a report. 6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding ("Spoilr"), is owned by Revenant LLC and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use. Show, film, game, and book titles and related trademarks belong to their respective owners; Spoilr is not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and references are for identification and commentary only.
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a license to process and store your content solely to operate and improve the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party content and services
Spoilr may reference or rely on third-party data and services (including AI providers and content sources). We are not responsible for third-party content or the accuracy of third-party information.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or free of spoilers.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revenant LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Revenant LLC from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
