Attack on Titan Episode 24: Mercy: Raid on Stohess District (2)

The episode opens with a flashback to days earlier, where Levi expresses impatience with Erwin's troops while Eren questions if he made the wrong choice; Levi reassures him that outcomes can't always be predicted. Erwin then arrives, announcing they've identified the Female Titan's identity—Annie—and briefs the team on the Stohess District operation plan, including having Eren transform to fight her.

In the present, Annie transforms, killing soldiers trying to restrain her, as Armin, Eren, and Mikasa flee through underground tunnels to regroup with Squad 3 above ground. Annie stomps through the tunnel roof, killing two Scout Regiment members and trapping the trio; Eren begs to help, but Mikasa refuses, shocked at Annie's willingness to let him die. Armin deduces Annie bet Eren wouldn't transform and is determined to retrieve him alive.

Eren bites his finger to transform but fails due to hesitation over fighting Annie, whom Mikasa suspects he has special feelings for. A collapsing tunnel crushes Eren under debris; Armin and Mikasa split up, with Armin lifting rubble to free him while Mikasa confronts Annie. Jean and Armin urge Eren to fight, castigating his mercy toward the killer of his friends, including Levi's squad and Marco.

The Scout Regiment battles the Female Titan above ground. Armin and the Scouts trap and immobilize Annie; Hange appears, telling her to stay put since they're too far from the Wall for other Titans to eat her, promising to extract all information from her.

A memory of his mother being eaten by a Titan snaps Eren from his malaise; enraged, he transforms with a lightning bolt that alerts Nile and Erwin, who are at gunpoint elsewhere. Eren's Titan sprints through the city, catches Annie off-guard with a punch to the face that knocks her into a building, then charges at her furiously. Armin lands nearby as Mikasa watches concerned, with Hange overseeing the immobilized Annie.
