Attack on Titan Episode 63: From One Hand to Another

Reiner Braun encounters Falco Grice, who claims he is retrieving something he left at headquarters but is actually mailing a letter outside the internment zone for a disabled soldier named Mr. Kruger.

Later, Theo Magath learns from Koslow that the entire Tybur family has arrived. Koslow notes that the Tyburs' personal guards are not part of the Marleyan military. They meet Willy Tybur, the family head, who introduces them to the rest of his family.

Willy privately asks Magath if he can identify which Tybur holds the War Hammer Titan. Magath says he cannot and wonders if it is even present. Willy assures him it is and states he came to see the statue of Helos, a Marleyan hero. Willy admires the statue, and Magath agrees with its symbolism but adds that it is empty inside. Willy laughs and then asks Magath about his plans to reinstate Marley's conscription system. Magath feels war is too distant for average Marleyans, whose battles are fought by Titans or conquered armies. He states that if he could speak to someone controlling Marley in the shadows, he would tell them it is too late.

Willy reveals that the Tybur family controls Marley, as Magath suspected. He insists that Marley's warlike nature has always existed and that the Tyburs gave the nation power and freedom as atonement. Willy acknowledges the Tyburs' responsibility for the negativity between Marley and Eldia but intends to reveal the truth to the world at the upcoming festival. He states he is not lying about seeing the statue, as he believes Marley needs a hero again, and asks Magath to work with him.

At a military meeting, Reiner discusses methods for invading Paradis Island, detailing benefits and weaknesses. A strategist is unhappy with Reiner's lack of a decisive plan. Outside, the Warriors watch candidates train. Falco overtakes Gabi Braun in a race, and the candidates celebrate, though Colt Grice doubts Falco can surpass Gabi.

As the candidates leave, Gabi expresses frustration with Falco's determination to beat her, pointing out that the Grice family will become Honorary Marleyans when Colt inherits the Beast Titan. She demands to know why Falco is trying so hard. Falco admits he is doing it for her, which confuses Gabi. Falco runs off in embarrassment.

The remaining candidates visit the festival stage under construction in the Liberio Internment Zone, where the Tybur family will announce their plan for war against Paradis to international ambassadors. Udo is skeptical that the world will easily join Marley, noting that hatred for Eldians is worse outside Marley. Gabi hopes holding the event there might help the world understand Eldians.

Near the stage, Magath hands Willy a small book, and Willy notes that a large-scale demolition is required. Willy congratulates Magath and says the military is his. Magath corrects him, stating the military serves the nation, and the nation's commander is Willy. Willy is uneasy with this label and admits he understands why previous Tyburs did not properly steer the country, lamenting that he must do so now.

At the hospital, Falco visits Kruger, who congratulates him on beating Gabi. Falco notices a baseball mitt and asks if it was from Kruger's family. Kruger says they sent it to make hospital life less boring, but it is hard in his current state. He tells Falco he will return to his hometown after the festival.

Spotting a doctor, Falco leaves. The doctor, who introduces himself as Jaeger, sits beside Kruger. He tells Kruger about Falco's family history and his uncle's ties to the Eldian Restorationists. He explains that Colt and Falco agreed to train as Warriors to protect their family. Jaeger urges Kruger to stop sending Falco on errands, fearing that if Falco falls under suspicion, their efforts will be in vain. He also suggests Kruger return to his family if he is truly healthy, as he might not be able to see them anymore and should not live with regrets.

Kruger asks Jaeger if he has regrets. Jaeger admits he regrets every day, believing he was responsible for his children's fates, including forcing his son to become a doctor. Jaeger then screams, and two hospital staff members escort him away. Kruger, left alone, tosses a baseball.

That night, on the eve of the festival, the Warrior candidates prepare to serve as waiters to ambassadors. Udo becomes frustrated hearing ambassadors speak ill of Eldians and accidentally spills wine on an ambassador from Hizuru. The ambassador, concerned for Udo, pretends she spilled it on herself and tells him to keep quiet.

Elsewhere, Willy greets ambassadors Ogweno and Nambia, along with childhood friends. The Marleyan ambassador gives a crude speech, which Willy gracefully cuts short. Willy then gives his own speech, expressing his desire to rid the world of the Titan scourge and announcing that he will declare his solution for the crisis the following night after his theater production.

The next morning, Gabi wakes to a commotion. The internment zone has been opened to outsiders, who have set up food stalls. She joins the other Warrior candidates in exploring the festival. Reiner, Pieck, and Galliard join them. Reiner spends much of his money buying food for everyone, smiling as he sees Gabi enjoying herself. By the end of the day, Gabi is so full that Reiner has to drag her away.

That night, the group that explored the food stalls joins Colt and Zeke Jaeger near the festival stage. Colt notices Falco is missing, and Udo explains Falco ran off after seeing someone he knew. A moment later, Falco runs up and asks Reiner to come with him. He leads Reiner to a basement, where he introduces him to Kruger. Kruger remarks that it has been four years since he and Reiner last saw each other. Reiner immediately recognizes Kruger as Eren Jaeger.
