Breaking Bad Episode 8: Seven Thirty-Seven

After completing a meth sale to drug dealer Tuco Salamanca at a junkyard, Tuco violently assaults his lieutenant, No-Doze, for speaking to Walter White on Tuco’s behalf. Tuco drives away but suddenly returns, demanding that Walt perform CPR on the convulsing No-Doze; despite Walt’s attempt, No-Doze dies. Tuco orders his other employee, Gonzo, to hide the body under an unstable pile of cars, and Gonzo complies while insisting No-Doze should receive a Christian burial. Before Walt and Jesse leave, Tuco punches Jesse to the ground.

Walt goes home and calculates that his family will need **$737,000** to cover all future expenses, concluding he must continue making meth for 11 more weeks. Skyler finds Walt standing unresponsive in front of the television; he then attempts to sexually assault her in the kitchen, stopping only after she objects multiple times. Meanwhile, Jesse meets an illegal arms dealer at a hot dog restaurant and buys a **Ruger SP101 handgun**. The next day, Jesse tells Walt that Tuco is a threat and must be killed; he shows Walt the gun and insists it’s either Tuco or them.

Walt becomes worried when he sees an SUV parked near his house and spends the night watching the street. Jesse panics at his own home, reporting hang-up phone calls and cars with no headlights passing by. Walt has Jesse walk through a play-by-play of how he would kill Tuco, trying to dissuade him from shooting. Instead, Walt proposes a clandestine plan: using **ricin**, a poison made from castor beans, to trick Tuco into poisoning himself during the next meth delivery. Walt and Jesse produce the ricin, hoping to lace the next batch of meth with it.

Walt receives a phone call from Hank Schrader, who apologizes for interfering with Skyler and Marie and mentions he found the body of Gonzo—whom Hank assumes Tuco killed after Gonzo returned to properly dispose of No-Doze’s body but got his arm crushed by debris and bled out. Walt and Jesse panic, believing Tuco is killing everyone who witnessed No-Doze’s murder. Walt takes Jesse’s gun, tells him to leave town immediately, and returns home, avoiding Skyler’s questions.

That evening, Walt goes outside and finds Tuco holding Jesse at gunpoint in Tuco’s car. Tuco forces Walt into the car and drives away, abducting him.
