Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 39: Layered Memories

Tanjiro keeps fighting Daki in the Red Light District, pushing himself with **Hinokami Kagura** despite the heavy strain on his body. At the same time, the battle spreads through the district: Inosuke reaches the demon’s belt-filled nest and starts rescuing captured people, while Zenitsu, the wives, and the others are freed and drawn into the fight as the situation escalates.

Tanjiro attacks Daki with several Kagura forms, including **Raging Sun**, **Fake Rainbow**, and **Fire Wheel**, trying to cut her neck before she can overwhelm him. Daki blocks, strikes back, and hurls him away, then unleashes her obi-like belts in a relentless assault that forces him onto the defensive. As the fight rages, her attacks also threaten nearby civilians, drawing more people out into the chaos and causing more destruction in the district.

Tanjiro grows increasingly desperate as his breathing and stamina begin to fail from repeatedly using Hinokami Kagura. He is pushed close to collapse, but he keeps fighting through sheer determination and anger at the destruction around him. Daki continues pressuring him with overwhelming force, clearly gaining the upper hand as Tanjiro’s body reaches its limit.

Meanwhile, Inosuke’s side of the battle opens up the hidden nest beneath the district. He finds and saves people who had been captured there, and the freed group—including Zenitsu and Tengen’s wives—joins the struggle as the ceiling of the nest breaks apart. Tengen Uzui then appears, swords in hand, as the episode ends with the battle intensifying on multiple fronts.
