Season 4· canon

Armed with his memories, Muichiro feels powerful and invincible, convinced that the demonic fifth moon has no chance against him.

Full recap

Tanjiro and the others are still in the Swordsmith Village when the battle against the Upper Rank demons continues to escalate, and this episode focuses on Muichiro Tokito as he fights Gyokko in a one-on-one clash.

Muichiro keeps pressing Gyokko despite the demon’s aggressive attacks, showing an unusually calm and controlled fighting style even while being targeted. When Gyokko becomes enraged after Muichiro insults his vase, he unleashes a stronger barrage of attacks, but Muichiro still avoids damage and uses the opening to try for Gyokko’s neck again. Gyokko then escapes from the vase and reveals a transformed, more monstrous true form, changing the shape and danger of the fight.

The episode also reveals more about Muichiro’s presence and role in the battle through how others see him: he is the Mist Hashira, a highly skilled Demon Slayer fighting with extreme composure in the midst of the village crisis. The episode’s focus is on the intensity of this duel and the sudden escalation when Gyokko stops holding back and transforms, setting up the next stage of the fight.
