Game of Thrones Episode 14: Garden of Bones

Robb Stark leads a **night raid** on a Lannister camp at Oxcross and wins a decisive victory, leaving the enemy force badly shattered. After the battle, he helps tend to wounded prisoners and meets a healer named **Talisa**, whose blunt honesty and competence clearly catch his attention.

In King’s Landing, news of Robb’s success enrages **Joffrey**, who orders **Sansa Stark** to be publicly abused in court. When the punishment goes too far, **Tyrion** intervenes, humiliates Joffrey, and gets Sansa out of the situation. To retaliate in a way that keeps control without direct defiance, Tyrion has **Ros** and **Daisy** brought to Joffrey; Joffrey responds by forcing Ros to beat Daisy, showing how cruel and unstable he is.

Tyrion also learns that **Cersei** has ordered **Pycelle’s** release, and he uses the moment to pressure **Lancel**. He reveals that he knows about Lancel’s relationship with Cersei and tells him he will keep it quiet if Lancel spies on Cersei for him.

At **Renly’s camp**, **Petyr Baelish** arrives just as tensions rise between **Renly** and **Stannis**. **Catelyn Stark** tries to keep the two brothers from destroying each other and urges them to unite against the Lannisters, but neither is willing to give way. The political meeting ends without the alliance she hoped for.

Across the sea, **Daenerys** is told that the city of **Qarth** will receive her. She asks **Jorah** about it, learning that the city lies beyond a harsh desert called the **Garden of Bones**. When Daenerys and her people reach the city, they are met by **the Thirteen**, who demand to see her dragons before granting shelter. Daenerys refuses to hand them over, asks first that her exhausted people be cared for, and is then left to suffer outside the gates when the rulers deny them entry.

Meanwhile, **Arya**, **Gendry**, and **Hot Pie** are brought to the ruined fortress of **Harrenhal**. There they see the Lannister garrison under **Gregor Clegane** terrorizing prisoners for information about the Brotherhood. **Tywin Lannister** arrives and orders the brutality stopped, turning the captives into laborers instead. Arya narrowly avoids being killed when Tywin notices she is a girl; instead, he takes her to serve as his cupbearer, which gives her an unexpected but dangerous place near the Lannister command.
