House of the Dragon Episode 19: Salt and Sea, Fire and Blood

Rhaena Targaryen finds the wild dragon Sheepstealer in the Vale and succeeds in mounting him, finally claiming a dragon of her own. In King’s Landing, Aegon tries to flee the city with Larys in a disguise, but they are intercepted by soldiers loyal to Rhaenyra; Larys talks the soldiers into keeping them alive as valuable prisoners.

Back in the capital, Alicent discovers that Aegon is gone and that Aemond is now on the Iron Throne. She tells Aemond that she worked to put Aegon on the throne but did not prepare him to rule, and she tries to steer Aemond toward Harrenhal for safety and strategy. Aemond agrees, but before leaving he kisses Alicent, leaving her shocked and horrified.

At sea, the Triarchy’s fleet attacks Corlys Velaryon’s blockade, triggering a violent battle between ships, soldiers, and dragons. Corlys’ ship maneuvers through a narrow pass to avoid one attack, but the enemy fleet catches up and fighting breaks out across the vessels.

During the battle, Corlys falls into the water and disappears from view, while his son Alyn kills Sharako Lohar in hand-to-hand combat after Lohar reaches the ship. The fighting escalates into chaos as dragons join the clash, and the episode ends with devastating losses for Rhaenyra’s side.
