Hunter x Hunter Episode 124: Breakdown x and x Awakening

Killua, recharged with electricity, moves through the palace trying to get back to Gon when he senses a familiar presence and stops to investigate. Using the reflection of his yo-yo, he sees that it is Palm, but she has been transformed into a Chimera Ant, and the two immediately clash because Killua refuses to tell her where Gon is.

Palm presses him for Gon’s location, while Killua worries that seeing her in this state would badly affect Gon and refuses to let her near him. Their argument turns into a fight, with Palm using her transformed body and a cloaking technique to attack Killua, while Killua tries to hold his ground and understand whether she still recognizes him.

During the battle, the episode shows how Palm was captured and altered by the Chimera Ants: after being found by the Royal Guard’s En, she tried to kill herself, but she was instead taken, transformed, and modified into an experimental Chimera Ant soldier. Her memories were kept, but her emotions were separated from them, leaving her aware but controlled.

Back in the present, Killua’s refusal and concern for Gon push Palm’s anger higher, but as the fight escalates, Killua suddenly breaks down in tears and admits why he has been hiding Gon’s location. That emotional collapse disrupts Palm’s attack and brings out her own buried feelings and memories.

A small, hidden Pouf appears in the form of a miniature figure concealed within Palm’s outfit and orders her to kill Killua while he is vulnerable. Palm rejects the command and crushes the tiny Pouf instead, then stops fighting, deactivates her transformed state, and thanks Killua for helping her recover her memories and emotions. She tells him that Gon needs him more than anyone else, leaving Killua shaken by the exchange.
