Full recap
The Chimera Ant King is born, severely damaging the Queen's internal organs. He demands food, but no one responds. When Peggy arrives late and, horrified by the Queen's state, tries to reach her, the King kills him without mercy, staining his tail. The King orders Colt to clean his tail. Turtle offers a handkerchief, but the King kills him, reiterating his order to Colt. Colt then carefully cleans the King's tail. Neferpitou informs the King that dinner has been prepared on the palace roof, offering a pleasant view.
Colt begs Pitou to treat the Queen, but Pitou states that with the King's birth, the Queen is now worthless. The King and his Royal Guards proceed to the palace roof. Menthuthuyoupi attempts to fly but crashes into a wall, remarking on his need for more practice. The King tastes a human patty but finds it disgusting. Pitou explains that the palace food is unflavored. The King recalls tasting savory meat occasionally while still in the Queen's belly. Pitou clarifies that those were special humans. Meanwhile, Colt flies towards Morel and Knov, who are preparing to escape. Colt, holding a white flag, pleads with them to save the Queen. He reveals that the King has been born, surprising and horrifying Morel and Knov, who declare the King and Royal Guards to be evil.
The King and Royal Guards then fly away from the palace. The King lands in a village in search of food. He kills a man and a woman, to the horror of their child, and samples their flesh. He spits it out, finding it disgusting. Pitou suggests that the brain is the most delicious part of a human, so it would be better to kill humans without damaging their heads. The King then turns to the traumatized child, who is distraught after witnessing her parents' deaths. He kills the child and eats her brain, noting it is slightly tastier. Pitou begins to offer more advice, but the King strikes her with his tail, calling her insolent for implying he doesn't understand people's auras. He then commends her strength, as his attack was meant to be fatal, yet she only sustained a mark on her face. She replies that she is unworthy of such praise.
Back at the nest, the Squadron Leaders observe the remains of Turtle and Peggy's book. Small Bear comments that the King is a very different organism who views other creatures as mere food. Cheetu debates their next course of action, noting that if the Queen dies, there's no reason to remain at the nest. Hagya and Zazan appear, stating that since the Queen can no longer reproduce, all soldiers should now strive to become a King, shocking Bihorn and Small Bear. Bihorn insists they must save the Queen, but realizes he is in the minority as Cheetu, Bloster, Meleoron, Alligator, Pike, Welfin, Hina, Rammot, and Flutter agree with Hagya's proposal.
Colt then pleads with Morel and Knov, explaining that if the Queen dies, the soldiers will begin to imitate the King and establish their own kingdoms, disrupting the ecosystem. Morel questions if Chimera Ant soldiers can reproduce, and Knov confirms they can. However, Knov adds that soldiers in a colony led by a queen do not attempt to spawn, but he has read reports of soldiers trying to reproduce after a queen's death. Convinced by Colt's sincerity, Morel and Knov agree to take him to their boss to tell his story, though they remain uncertain if their boss will trust him.
Elsewhere, Knuckle, Shoot, Gon (with I.R.S. on his shoulder), and Killua are at the NGL Border Stop. Gon and Killua say goodbye to Knuckle and Shoot after losing their fights, and Gon makes Knuckle promise to save Kite. Knuckle agrees. As they leave, Gon breaks down crying, telling Killua he never realized how frustrating it was to be weak. They drive back with Monta, Stick, and Spinner. Killua thinks to himself that he will protect Gon for the 30 days Gon cannot use his abilities. However, he also thinks that because he is weak, he will leave Gon once that time is up.
