Right before Suguru Geto's eyes, Toji shoots Riko dead and assures him the escort mission has failed. Suguru demands to know why Toji is there, and the assassin reveals he killed Satoru Gojo. Enraged, Suguru tells Toji to die and unleashes his Rainbow Dragon cursed spirit, which rams into Toji and crashes through several buildings.

Toji casually fires his handgun while being dragged by the dragon, forcing Suguru to summon another cursed spirit to block the bullets. Suguru heads to a lower area of the Tombs of the Star, where Toji escapes the dragon's grasp and tells Suguru not to be impatient, walking around the upper floor of the wrecked building.

Toji explains why barriers are ineffective against him, revealing he has no cursed energy but uses a cursed spirit to store and carry cursed tools, along with a Heavenly Pact. Suguru tracks Toji's footsteps from below and launches curse projectiles, but Toji's speed outmaneuvers them.

Suguru interrupts Toji's explanation and summons Kuchisake-Onna, whose Simple Domain enforces non-violence until Toji answers her question: "Am I pretty?" Toji dismisses her as not his type, triggering scissor blades poised to snipe his limbs.

Toji retrieves the Inverted Spear of Heaven from his own cursed spirit and deflects the blades at immense speed. Suguru tries to close in and absorb Toji's cursed spirit to nullify his arsenal, but it rejects him; Toji capitalizes, slashing Suguru with a katana and finishing with a fierce kick as the platform crashes.

Toji spares Suguru because he doesn't know what would happen to the absorbed cursed spirits if Suguru died first. Meanwhile, a delirious Satoru—having survived near-death through a newfound awakening involving reversed cursed technique, perfecting Cursed Technique Reversal: Red, and combining it with Blue to create Hollow Purple—claims Toji will lose for not decapitating him or using the Inverted Spear for the finishing blow.

Toji delivers Riko's body to his employer, explaining his motivations and the mission's details in a tense meeting that reveals more about the believers' personalities. As Toji departs, a restored Satoru confronts him again, now vastly empowered and only half-engaged in their renewed fight, sensing something has changed.

Satoru, drunk on his power, tracks Toji and reunites with Suguru, casually asking if they should kill the believers in retaliation. The question shakes Suguru, but he holds his conviction, prioritizing logic over vengeance.
