Lioness Episode 7: Wish the Fight Away

Joe and Kaitlyn are already scrambling to set up the next phase of the operation after learning that Aaliyah’s wedding will happen in Mallorca, and they work by phone from CIA headquarters to line up people and resources without going through the slow official channels. Joe also has Kyle keep close watch on Cruz while the mission is being arranged.

In Manhattan, Aaliyah and Cruz go wedding shopping together and their relationship becomes more intimate. They talk about the kiss they shared earlier, and the tension between them grows as Aaliyah leads Cruz into a hotel room after shopping. There, the two sleep together, and afterward Cruz breaks down in tears because she feels guilty and conflicted about what she is supposed to do.

Cruz texts Joe, overwhelmed by doubt and unable to separate her feelings from the mission. Joe comes to speak with her privately and tries to steady her, pushing her to keep going despite her fear that she cannot complete the assignment. Joe makes it clear that Cruz’s target is too important to let the mission collapse, and Cruz agrees to continue.

Aaliyah reveals that her father will not be attending the wedding, adding another layer to the situation around the ceremony. Joe, Kaitlyn, and Westfield continue coordinating the larger operation, while Cruz is eventually moved toward travel for the next stage of the mission. The episode ends with Joe showing Cruz footage of bombings tied to the target’s financing, forcing Cruz to confront the scale of what she is being asked to stop.
