My Hero Academia Episode 103: One Thing at a Time
As the villains continue to move behind the scenes, Endeavor helps his work study students with the next steps in their training.
Full recap
Hawks visits a gathering of villains and keeps up his cover while quietly gathering information about a large-scale attack planned for four months in the future. At the same time, Endeavor deciphers Hawks’s hidden warning and realizes the heroes are facing a much bigger threat than he first understood, while the three students starting work-studies with him begin their winter training at his agency.
Hawks arrives at a hidden base where several members of the villain alliance are meeting, including Dabi, Himiko Toga, Twice, and Spinner. He reports what he has been doing to spread the ideals of the Liberation Army and continues acting as though he is loyal to them. Twice cheerfully asks Hawks to teach him more, and Hawks agrees, maintaining his friendly cover. When the others are told that the heroes are linking the villains to the Deika City incident and that the next generation of heroes has resumed training, Himiko becomes excited after seeing footage of Izuku, while Dabi dismisses the students as unimpressive.
After Hawks is dismissed, he leaves a feather behind so he can listen in from outside and overhears Himiko say that Tomura will destroy everything in four months. Hawks concludes that a sudden raid would not be effective yet and decides the heroes need to learn the army’s size and spread across Japan before making a coordinated strike. He also receives warning that if he fails, reinforcements will be sent.
Elsewhere, Endeavor finishes decoding Hawks’s hidden message and realizes it is not just a warning about an enemy gathering, but a sign that the Hero Public Safety Commission has been preparing for a coming war. He remembers being asked to give students real experience and understands that the work-studies are part of that larger preparation.
Endeavor then meets the three students assigned to his agency and brings them into the gym. He asks each of them what they want from the internship. Izuku gives a long explanation about wanting better control over his power and being able to switch between different applications of it without exceeding the amount of power he can currently handle. Burnin, Katsuki, and Shoto struggle to keep up with the technical details. Endeavor takes in what Izuku says and then begins the practical training. He explains that his agency handles rescue, evacuation, and combat all at once, and that he moves immediately because he knows his area so well that he can process everything in parallel. He challenges the students to beat him to a villain even once over the winter. On their first attempt, they fail and arrive only after he has already made the arrest.
The episode closes with the start of Round 2 of the Hero Work-Studies for students across both classes.
