My Hero Academia Episode 44: Roaring Upheaval

Izuku and Mezo face a berserk Dark Shadow. Mezo explains that a villain named Moonfish ambushed them, cutting off one of his dupli-arms. Though Mezo can regenerate his arms, Fumikage's anger and grief over the attack caused Dark Shadow to rage out of control. It attacks indiscriminately at any noise and blocks the path to Katsuki.

Mezo plans to lead Dark Shadow back to base camp for someone to create light and dispel it. He asks Izuku to choose between saving Katsuki from villains or Fumikage from his Quirk. Izuku refuses to choose, wanting to save both, and devises a plan. Mezo uses his dupli-arms to create mouths that bait Dark Shadow as they run through the forest towards Katsuki. They find Katsuki and Shoto attempting to hold off Moonfish without damaging their surroundings.

Mezo yells at Katsuki and Shoto to use their Quirks against Dark Shadow. Moonfish tries to attack Dark Shadow, but it easily traps him. Shoto prepares to use his fire, but Katsuki tells him to wait until Dark Shadow completely defeats Moonfish. Dark Shadow breaks Moonfish's teeth and launches him through the forest. Katsuki and Shoto immediately use their Quirks to create light, weakening Dark Shadow back to its normal form.

Fumikage thanks his peers and apologizes. Izuku tells the group they need to protect Katsuki and get him back to camp. Katsuki gets angry, saying he doesn't need protection, but they ignore him and proceed to walk back to camp, with Katsuki reluctantly following.

Meanwhile, Ochaco has been cut by a villain named Himiko. Himiko continues to attack Ochaco and Tsuyu, stating the blood she collected isn't enough for her objective. Tsuyu tries to fling Ochaco away with her tongue, telling her to run. Himiko slashes Tsuyu's tongue with a knife, then pins her to a tree by her hair, telling Tsuyu they are friends and she can call her "Tsu." Ochaco rushes back to help. Himiko stabs at Ochaco, but Ochaco uses martial arts to restrain Himiko on the ground.

Himiko recognizes Ochaco's scent and asks if Ochaco has a crush on someone, suggesting Ochaco is trying to be like the person she has feelings for. This distracts Ochaco long enough for Himiko to stab her with a needle and begin draining her blood. Ochaco is saved when Shoto and his group stumble upon the scene, forcing Himiko to retreat due to being outnumbered.

Izuku asks the girls to join their group to help protect Katsuki. However, Katsuki and Fumikage have mysteriously disappeared. A villain named Mr. Compress reveals himself, stating he took them because they should be villains. Shoto attacks him with ice, but Mr. Compress is too fast and jumps through the trees to escape. Mr. Compress contacts his allies, reporting he has Katsuki and they need to regroup at the escape point.

Two villains, Dabi and Twice, head for the rendezvous point, discussing Mr. Compress' success. A student named Yuga hides behind bushes, watching over the unconscious bodies of Toru and Kyoka. He considers fighting back but is struck with fear when he makes eye contact with Dabi. Dabi starts to walk towards him, but Twice reminds Dabi to call back a Chainsaw Nomu they had released earlier. That Nomu chases a student named Yosetsu, who is carrying a heavily injured student named Momo, through the forest. The Nomu catches up, but Dabi calls it back. Momo recognizes that the villains likely captured Katsuki and creates a tracking device for Yosetsu to weld to the Nomu's back using his Quirk.

Two heroes, Tiger and Mandalay, manage to restrain two villains, Magne and Spinner. Spinner yells about "Stain's will," and Magne blames him for their capture. Suddenly, a villain named Kurogiri appears and suggests it's time to leave. Shoto and the others continue to chase Mr. Compress. Realizing he is too fast on foot, Izuku devises a plan to launch them through the air using Ochaco and Tsuyu's Quirks. Mezo guides them through the air with his arms as they quickly approach Mr. Compress, surprising the villain.

Himiko regroups with Dabi and Twice. She reveals she only got one person's blood, though she was meant to get three. Himiko and Twice begin to talk, but Dabi tells them to stop. He looks up, and Izuku, Shoto, and Mezo land on the ground, with Mr. Compress trapped beneath them. Twice declares he recognizes the kids, but his split personality immediately asks who they are.
