Reacher Episode 16: Fly Boy

Season 2· aired 2024-01-18

Reacher and Neagley make a final desperate attempt to save O’Donnell and Dixon, stop A.M. and avenge their friends’ murder.

Full recap

Reacher gives himself up to Shane Langston to save O’Donnell and Dixon, but the situation turns violent almost immediately when Langston realizes Neagley is not among the dead in the morgue. Reacher refuses to cooperate further, a fight breaks out, and Langston and his men attack him while he is handcuffed.

Langston tries to force Reacher to reveal Neagley’s location, but Reacher taunts him and refuses to break. In response, Langston shoots O’Donnell in the leg and orders one of his men, Parker, to dig the bullet out so there will be no ballistic evidence tying them to the shooting. While this is happening, the episode reveals more of the conspiracy: Langston admits the operation was built to frame Swan, and that he intended to pin everything on him.

After the confrontation escalates further, Langston orders O’Donnell and Dixon loaded onto a helicopter for a lethal dump from the air. Reacher is taken aboard as well, and the fight continues in the helicopter, where he struggles against two armed men while also trying to keep Dixon from falling out. Even while injured, he manages to block their attacks and creates the opening Dixon needs to break free.

Dixon uses a knife still lodged in Reacher to stab Parker in the neck, dropping him. Reacher then seizes Langston, who panics and begs for his life, offering to reveal the buyer’s name and the meeting location. Reacher rejects the plea and throws Langston out of the helicopter, killing him.

Meanwhile, Neagley and outside forces launch a rescue attack on Langston’s facility, causing chaos and forcing the helicopter’s crew to flee. As the helicopter flies over the Hudson River, Neagley fires a missile that brings it down, killing the pilot and Russell.

After the danger is over, the episode closes on the team’s aftermath: Reacher helps set Dixon up with a Delaware LLC under her own name and encourages her to work for herself, which she appreciates. O’Donnell asks what Reacher will buy for himself, and Reacher says he will treat himself to a new toothbrush.
