Attack on Titan Episode 7: The Small Blade: The Battle for Trost (3)
After the retreat bell sounds, many cadets find themselves without enough fuel to scale the wall back to safety. Mikasa begins to lose hope once she hears of the deaths in Armin's squad, but the appearance of a new type of Titan stokes her will to fight.

The episode opens with Titans continuing to ravage Trost District, as cadets at headquarters beg Captain Woermann not to abandon their post and leave frontline soldiers without gas resupplies for evacuation. Woermann insists he must organize reinforcements beyond the inner gate, angrily silencing accusations of cowardice under threat of treason, before departing with his men.
Supply shortages trap soldiers on rooftops, with Titans overrunning depots; one despairing cadet shoots himself. Mikasa finds a depressed Armin, who tearfully recounts Eren's squad being devoured and Eren's apparent death while trying to retake Trost.
Jean rallies the cadets for a desperate push to headquarters using remaining gas, overriding objections about protocol to retreat. Mikasa joins the charge but exhausts her gas mid-flight, crashing to the ground as a Titan looms behind her; Armin and Connie briefly rescue her before they too run low.
Jean leads the group onward but they falter short of HQ, blocked by Titans; several cadets are grabbed and eaten, prompting Jean to regret the plan. Mikasa, separated and cornered by a Titan on a street, instinctively dodges its attacks while numbly contemplating death, having lost her "family" again.
Another Titan appears behind her, trapping her; she recalls Eren's childhood command to fight, vowing never to give up or forget him, and grips her blades to strike. Suddenly, the Titan behind her punches the attacking one in the jaw, obliterating its mouth and hurling it away.
The mysterious Titan roars skyward and brutally kills the fallen one by ripping off its jaw and nape. Armin arrives on gas, helping Mikasa to a rooftop where they observe the Titan—moving with unnatural coordination—punch and kill another approaching Titan without targeting humans.
Armin notes it ignores them, switches gas tanks with Mikasa, and urges caution; Mikasa realizes her prior recklessness. The group watches the Titan continue fighting others amid the chaos.
