Attack on Titan Episode 76: Judgment

Hange and Floch discover a shattered wagon and a motionless body, identified as Levi, near a Titan. A Jaegerist offers to shoot Levi, but Hange declares him dead. Floch, skeptical, attempts to inspect the body, but the nearby Titan begins emitting steam. The Jaegerists, wary of this unusual behavior for a dying Titan, aim their weapons. The Titan dissolves into a skeleton, revealing Zeke in its remains. As the Jaegerists stare in shock, Hange seizes the opportunity, grabs Levi, and dives into a nearby river to escape. Most of the Jaegerists pursue, but Floch stays behind to question Zeke.

Zeke explains he was in a strange place where a girl built his body from soil, and time had no meaning. He suspects he was in the Paths. Since the Scouts guarding him have all been turned into Titans and slain, he believes there is nothing in their way. Zeke and the Jaegerists then move to join Eren.

Meanwhile, in Shiganshina District, Eren completes his transformation into the Attack Titan. Porco Galliard's Jaw Titan shields Pieck and Gabi from the blast. Gabi expresses surprise that Pieck is not the traitor she appeared to be in front of Eren. Pieck admits she doesn't trust Marley but trusts her comrades.

In the sky, Theo Magath guides airships towards the blast, intending to capture the Founding Titan and avenge the raid on Liberio. Marleyan soldiers parachute from the airships with arms and equipment.

On the headquarters rooftop, Pieck lifts the hand manacled to Gabi and asks Galliard for help. He swipes at her arm with his Titan's claws, severing the hand and separating them. Pieck screams in pain and throws herself off the roof as Galliard lunges to attack Eren. Galliard keeps Eren occupied briefly before retreating. Pieck transforms into the Cart Titan, with Gabi hiding in its mouth, and they escape.

Eren observes the airships and suspects Reiner is behind Marley's sudden appearance, as they would otherwise lack sufficient information. Below him, Yelena urges Eren to leave his Titan and escape underground using the War Hammer Titan's abilities. Instead, Eren jumps off the roof and walks his Titan into the city, where Reiner, descending on his parachute, spots him. Reiner transforms into the Armored Titan, and Yelena orders the Jaegerists to protect Eren.

As the two Titans fight, Magath calls Pieck over. She spits out Gabi, who is reunited with Magath and Colt Grice. Gabi explains that Falco is still at military headquarters and ingested some of Zeke's spinal fluid. Pieck adds that three hundred captive soldiers also drank the fluid. She suspects the Founding Titan is Eren's trump card, but the conditions are not right for him to use it since he hasn't already.

Gabi recalls overhearing a conversation on a Scout airship after her capture and realizes Eren's plan requires a Titan of royal blood, making Zeke the key. Though surprised, the group acknowledges Zeke's heritage is plausible and decides they must keep Eren and Zeke apart. Pieck prepares for combat, and Magath climbs onto the mobile artillery platform on her Titan's back. Magath tells Gabi they intend to capture the Founding Titan, not kill it, to end two thousand years of malice.

Eren and Reiner continue their fight. The Attack Titan's hardened fists shatter the faceplate around the Armored Titan's head, but Reiner remains active. Galliard attacks the Attack Titan's back, breaking the spikes Eren forms for defense. Eren struggles with Reiner in front and Galliard behind, but frees himself by impaling both with massive spikes from the ground.

The Jaegerists arrive with Thunder Spears. Pieck and Magath fire a shell through the Attack Titan's head, disabling its motor skills and allowing Reiner and Galliard to free themselves. Before the Jaegerists can act, Marley's forces open fire. Between ground soldiers and airships, the Jaegerists suffer heavy losses.

Yelena watches from the headquarters roof. Onyankopon hurries away, stating the Founder is about to be eaten.

Though immobile, Eren defends himself from Galliard, who has broken free, using the War Hammer Titan's power, but is shelled again by Magath. The Marleyan general notes the War Hammer Titan's power exhausts quickly and intends to wear Eren out. He reminds his soldiers that Willy Tybur sacrificed himself to make this attack possible and create space for a new Helos.

Reiner breaks free and impales Eren with the spike that had previously held him, declaring Eren has lost and everyone, including Eren, has suffered enough.

Inside headquarters, Onyankopon frees the imprisoned Scouts, explaining they are under attack from Marley, with the Armored, Cart, and Jaw Titans present. He fears Eren will lose and asks for their help. Conny grabs Onyankopon, demanding to know why they should trust him after all the betrayals. Armin intervenes, suggesting they listen.

Onyankopon states he was unaware of the wine or the euthanization plan. Nicolo confirms this, adding that Marleyan prisoners of war were instructed not to discuss these matters with the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers. Onyankopon joined to fight Marley and believed in a future for Paradis Island that included children, making the euthanization plan contrary to his efforts.

Armin chooses to believe him, as does Jean, who points out that helping Eren and Zeke means the euthanization plan will proceed. Onyankopon suggests they can stop the plan, but need Eren and Zeke to keep the island safe, proposing they demonstrate the Rumbling to the world. When Armin asks Mikasa what she wants to do, she says she wants to help Eren, but looking at her scarf, she wonders if it's due to her bloodline rather than her own will.

Wanting to believe in Eren, Armin suggests Mikasa's thought is fabricated, but she admits to getting headaches sometimes. When Armin asks the others if Eren would sterilize the Eldian population, they are noncommittal. Armin suggests Eren might be feigning agreement with the plan to prevent Yelena from acting, as he ultimately controls the Founding Titan's power, but receives no response.
