Full recap

Jesse Pinkman is released from the hospital just as an ambulance arrives carrying a critically wounded Hank Schrader, who has four gunshot wounds from a shootout with two hitmen; Jesse stands up from his wheelchair to see Hank, drops his cigarette, and follows the paramedics into the operating room before smiling as he leaves, satisfied by the "karmic justice". Meanwhile, at the underground superlab, Walter White tells a confused Gale Boetticher that they are not working well together and that Gale is being replaced. Jesse arrives moments later, displaying an unprofessional attitude as he admires the lab, confirming to Gale that he is the replacement, while Victor reminds Walt to meet their weekly quota. Jesse then informs Walt of Hank’s condition, prompting Walt to immediately leave for the hospital.

At the hospital, Walt joins his family while DEA agents Steve Gomez and George Merkert explain that two Cartel hitmen, Leonel and Marco Salamanca, attempted to kill Hank. Gomez notes that Hank took down both assassins without his gun, leading Marie to question why Hank was unarmed; Merkert reveals Hank had to turn in his weapon following his suspension due to the assault on Jesse, causing Marie to lash out at the officers for leaving Hank defenseless. Walt spends the day at the hospital while Jesse waits at the lab for Walt to return so they can cook to meet the quota. Gus Fring receives a call from Juan Bolsa, who explains that the attempted hit on a DEA agent has forced the Mexican government to crack down on the Cartel and monitor the border more strictly, forcing Gus to lie low in Mexico.

Walt buys time by assuring Gus he is working hard to deliver the promised meth, carefully avoiding mention of his connection to Hank, but Gus arrives at the hospital with food for the waiting family, exposing that he knew about their relationship. Walt presses Gus for information about the gunmen in private, and Gus calmly explains that things will work out; Walt then learns the surviving hitman, Leonel Salamanca, has died, unaware that Gus’s henchman poisoned him with an injection. While being chastised on the phone for the deaths of the Cousins, Gus listens with satisfaction as cartel boss Juan Bolsa is shot and killed by Mexican police. A doctor eventually informs the White family that Hank will survive.
