Breaking Bad Episode 59: To'hajiilee
Things heat up for Walt in unexpected ways.
Full recap
Walter White arranges for Jesse Pinkman’s death through Todd Alquist’s uncle, Jack Welker, but Jack demands Walt teach Todd to cook his signature blue meth in exchange. Meanwhile, Jesse reveals to Hank Schrader and Steven Gomez his plan to trap Walt by targeting his buried money. At a DEA safe house, Hank tricks Walt’s bodyguard Huell Babineaux into confessing that Walt stored his cash in barrels and retrieved them with a rental van, though Huell doesn’t know the hiding spot.
Jesse sends Walt a photo of a barrel filled with money and threatens to burn it all unless Walt comes to the desert location immediately. During their heated phone call, Walt confesses to poisoning Brock Cantillo but claims he ensured Brock survived and insists all his murders were to protect Jesse. Walt rushes to To’hajiilee—the sacred desert where he and Jesse first cooked together and where he hid his money in seven black barrels—but finds no one there.
As another car approaches, Walt hides, assuming Jesse intends to kill him, and calls Jack to give the coordinates of his fortune. When he sees that Hank, Gomez, and Jesse are in the car, Walt frantically calls Jack off, but the neo-Nazi gang ignores the cancellation and arrives anyway. Hank steps out, calls for Walt to reveal himself, and Walt silently cries behind a rock before standing up, dropping his gun, and allowing Hank and Gomez to cuff him. Walt calls Jesse a coward for becoming a “rat,” and Jesse spits in his face before they are briefly forced to fight and then placed in separate cars.
Hank calls Marie Schrader to say he has caught Walt, but the episode ends as Jack and his heavily armed gang confront Hank and Gomez, and a massive shootout erupts with guns blazing.
