Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 11: Tsuzumi Mansion
Tanjiro's next destination, according to his Kasugai Crow, is to the south-southeast. On the way, Tanjiro runs into his fellow Final Selection survivor, the swordsman Zenitsu Agatsuma. Tanjiro has a hard time dealing with Zenitsu's passive attitude as they head deep into the mountains. They encounter two children whose older brother was taken away right in front of their house. There, Zenitsu hears the sound of a tsuzumi ringing out from somewhere.
Full recap
Tanjiro encounters **Zenitsu**, a yellow-clad Demon Slayer from the Final Selection, desperately trying to convince a woman to marry him out of panic—he believes he's about to die. Their guide birds lead them to a mansion in the woods where two frightened children explain that a demon has kidnapped their older brother. A body suddenly falls from the mansion window and dies before them.
Tanjiro leaves Nezuko's box with the children to protect them and enters the mansion with the reluctant Zenitsu. Inside, they encounter a **demon with a tsuzumi (drum) ability**—by striking drums on its body, the demon can rotate and flip the rooms of the mansion, changing gravity and orientation. The demon is angry about losing prey and attacks Tanjiro, who finds himself standing on walls as the room rotates.
A **boar-headed boy wielding dual swords** suddenly charges into the fight, attacking both the demon and Tanjiro. Meanwhile, Zenitsu becomes separated and wanders through rotating rooms until he falls out of the house entirely.
Inside the mansion, Tanjiro discovers the kidnapped boy, **Kiyoshi**, hiding in a room with one of the tsuzumi drums. Kiyoshi reveals that three demons fought over him, and the drum fell during the scuffle—he's been using it to keep himself safe by preventing the demon from rotating the rooms. Tanjiro tells Kiyoshi and his sister **Teruko** to strike the drum, giving him an opening to attack the demon.
Despite appearing unharmed, Tanjiro is in significant pain from his previous battle but mentally resolves never to give up. He adapts to the demon's room rotations by using the walls to reinforce his breathing technique and ultimately **beheads the demon**, ending the threat.
