With Tanjiro successfully awakening from his dream, he confronts the demon responsible, Lower One Enmu. But the situation challenges Tanjiro's resolve when Enmu proves more powerful that any demon he's ever faced.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Rengoku are trapped in a deep sleep by Enmu’s Blood Demon Art, while Enmu’s allies move through their dreams trying to destroy their spiritual cores. Tanjiro realizes he is dreaming, understands that waking up is the only way to fight back, and makes the painful decision to cut his own neck in order to break free.
Inside his dream, Tanjiro first experiences a version of the life he longed for, with his family alive and his lost loved ones present. He quickly notices that something is wrong, recognizes the dream for what it is, and desperately searches for a way to wake himself up. His method is extreme: he uses his sword against himself, choosing a violent act as the only route back to consciousness.
At the same time, the demon’s servants continue attacking the sleeping group from within their dreams, aiming to finish them before they can awaken. The episode builds tension around Tanjiro’s struggle to escape the illusion while the others remain in danger, ending with the fight between Tanjiro’s will to wake up and the demon’s attempt to keep him trapped.
