Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 47: A Sword from Over 300 Years Ago
Yoriichi Type Zero is destroyed at the end of Tanjiro's training, but a sword from over 300 years ago appears from inside. Kotetsu gives Tanjiro the sword. However, it is badly rusted. At that moment, Haganezuka appears and takes the sword with him to perform a grueling whetting process handed down within his family line. Meanwhile, the presence of demons is inching closer to the village...

Tanjiro and Kotetsu continue working with the broken training doll in the swordsmith village, but the doll is ultimately destroyed during Tanjiro’s training. Inside it, they discover a sword that has been hidden there for more than 300 years, and Kotetsu hands it to Tanjiro.
The blade is badly rusted, and Tanjiro is disappointed to find that it is unusable in its current state. Soon after, Haganezuka appears and takes the sword away, determined to restore it through an intense whetting process passed down in his family.
While this is happening, the episode also shows that danger is drawing nearer to the village as demons close in.
