Genya reveals that he has been eating demons, and the exchange quickly turns hostile as Sanemi reacts with anger and refuses to acknowledge him. The argument escalates into a violent confrontation, with Sanemi attacking Genya and Tanjiro intervening to protect him.

The clash damages the area and brings the training session to a halt. By the end of the episode, Tanjiro’s progress through the Hashira training has been interrupted by the fallout between Sanemi and Genya.
