Game of Thrones Episode 54: Book of the Stranger

Jon is preparing to leave Castle Black when **Sansa Stark** arrives with **Brienne of Tarth** and **Podrick Payne**, leading to an emotional reunion between Jon and Sansa after years apart. Sansa explains that she has come to gather support to take back Winterfell from **Ramsay Bolton**, but Jon refuses to commit his men or the wildlings to another battle, saying he is done fighting.

At Winterfell, Ramsay learns that **Rickon Stark** is his prisoner and sends Jon a brutally threatening letter demanding Sansa’s return, promising to slaughter the wildlings, kill Rickon, and humiliate and execute Jon if he does not comply. The message pushes Jon to reconsider, and Sansa urges him to use his name to rally the North against Ramsay. Elsewhere, **Theon Greyjoy** reaches **Pyke**, where he seeks refuge with his sister **Yara** and tries to reconnect with the Greyjoys after his long absence.

In **Meereen**, **Tyrion Lannister** meets with the leaders of the slave cities and negotiates a compromise: the slave trade will be phased out over several years in exchange for peace and support for Daenerys’s rule. **Missandei** and **Grey Worm** are uneasy with the deal, but Tyrion argues that it is the most practical way to stabilize the city.

Back in **King’s Landing**, **Cersei Lannister** and **Jaime Lannister** try to improve their position by forming an uneasy alliance with **Olenna Tyrell** and **Kevan Lannister** against the **High Sparrow** and the Faith Militant. Cersei uses the threat to Margaery and the family’s weakened state to push for cooperation, and the meeting ends with a temporary partnership against their common enemy.

At **Vaes Dothrak**, **Jorah Mormont** and **Daario Naharis** secretly enter the city to rescue **Daenerys Targaryen**. They find her among the widows of the Dothraki, but Daenerys refuses to flee with them, saying they would not escape alive that way. She instead walks into the gathering of the khals, where she is judged and threatened by the Dothraki leaders. Daenerys then locks them inside the temple and sets it on fire; the khals burn to death while she emerges from the flames unharmed, and the stunned Dothraki bow to her.

The episode also shows **Margaery Tyrell** in captivity being brought into a private meeting with the High Sparrow, where she appears to continue negotiating under pressure.
