Arya escapes into a dark interior, lures the Waif into a fight in near-total darkness, and kills her, then takes her face back to the Hall of Faces. When Jaqen confronts her there, Arya rejects the Faceless Men’s identity and declares that she is **Arya Stark of Winterfell** and is going home.

At Riverrun, Brienne arrives and meets Jaime, offering to persuade the Blackfish to surrender if Jaime will let the Tully forces leave safely to fight for Sansa. Jaime gives her until nightfall, but the Blackfish refuses to abandon Riverrun, so Jaime forces Edmure to order the surrender by threatening Edmure’s son. The Blackfish helps Brienne and Podrick escape, then stays behind to fight and dies in the battle.

In King’s Landing, the Faith Militant come to summon Cersei to see the High Sparrow, but she refuses to go with them. The confrontation escalates until the Mountain kills one of the Faith Militant, and Cersei remains defiant.

In Meereen, Tyrion, Grey Worm, and Missandei celebrate the city’s recovery, but a fleet sent by the Masters appears to attack. Daenerys returns on Drogon, rejoining the city as the threat arrives.

Sandor Clegane continues tracking down the Brotherhood Without Banners and catches up with them while they are preparing to execute some men. He claims revenge and is allowed to kill two of them before the group moves on.
