Game of Thrones Episode 69: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Jaime arrives at Winterfell and is confronted by Daenerys, Sansa, and the others over his past. After Brienne speaks on his behalf, he is allowed to stay and fight for the living.

Jaime then speaks privately with Bran and apologizes for trying to kill him years earlier, but Bran does not react with anger and accepts that the past has brought both of them to where they are now.

Daenerys grows frustrated with Tyrion because she believes Cersei’s promise to send soldiers was false, but Jorah helps calm her. Daenerys and Sansa also talk in an attempt to ease the tension between them, but the conversation becomes strained when Sansa asks what will happen to the North after Daenerys takes the Iron Throne, and Daenerys gives no clear answer.

Theon returns to Winterfell and offers to fight for the Starks. Soon after, Tormund, Beric, and Edd arrive with urgent news: the Army of the Dead is much closer than expected and will reach Winterfell before morning.

A war council follows. Bran explains that the Night King is after him and agrees to serve as bait to draw him into a trap. Theon volunteers to defend Bran with the Ironborn, while Jon and Daenerys settle on a plan to ambush the Night King once he reveals himself.

Elsewhere, Arya questions the Hound about why he came north if he only ever looks out for himself, and he answers that he came because of her. Arya then visits Gendry, who tells her that he is Robert Baratheon’s bastard son. Wanting to sleep with someone before the battle, Arya seduces him, and they have sex.

As Winterfell prepares for the coming attack, Jorah fails to stop Lyanna Mormont from joining the fight. Later, Jon goes to the crypts and tells Daenerys that he is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. She is skeptical and asks him to keep the news secret, but before the conversation can continue, horn blasts announce the arrival of the Army of the Dead.
