Full recap

Gon and Killua find themselves surrounded by members of a group within their base. They notice Hisoka among the group, but all three pretend not to know each other. One of the group members, Nobunaga, questions if the boys know any of their members, and Killua observes another member, Shizuku. Two other members, Franklin and Feitan, recognize Gon from an arm-wrestling match. Nobunaga challenges Gon to an arm wrestle, repeatedly slamming Gon's hand onto the concrete, causing him pain. Nobunaga speaks of a powerful member named Uvogin, claiming he was the strongest but was defeated by a "Chain user." Killua interjects that they don't know who the Chain user is, prompting Nobunaga to slam Gon's hand down again and threaten Killua with death if he speaks out of turn. Killua senses Nobunaga's killing intent as Nobunaga continues to talk about Uvogin, and Gon's hand begins to bleed.

Nobunaga recounts his close friendship with Uvogin, expressing deep sorrow and even crying. He vows to find the Chain user, believing the user was hired by the Nostrade family and holds a grudge against their group. This information leads Killua to a realization about the Chain user's identity. Nobunaga asks one more time if they have any information about the Chain user. Gon insists he knows nothing, then, in a sudden rage, activates his aura and questions how Nobunaga can mourn a friend while simultaneously murdering many others. Gon then slams Nobunaga's hand down. Feitan restrains Gon from behind. Killua takes a step towards Gon, but Hisoka places a card to Killua's neck, preventing him from interfering to maintain their pretense.

Nobunaga orders Feitan to release Gon, which Feitan perceives as condescending. They stare each other down until Franklin intervenes to calm Nobunaga. Machi reminds Nobunaga of their rules, and Shizuku adds that one rule prohibits members from seriously fighting each other. Nobunaga flips a coin to decide what to do; he wins the toss, and Feitan releases Gon. Franklin asks Pakunoda if she learned anything from the boys, but her ability did not reveal any memories of the Chain user. Killua deduces that Pakunoda checked their memories by touching them, which concerns him now that he suspects the Chain user might be Kurapika. Some members suggest letting the boys go, but Phinks believes they might still have information, as the Chain user hides their chains. Shalnark proposes they gather more information about the Nostrade family, knowing the Chain user works for them.

After their discussion, Nobunaga asks Gon to join their group, but Gon boldly states he would rather die. Nobunaga laughs, guessing Gon is an Enhancer, and expresses a desire to ask Chrollo if both boys can join. However, Nobunaga is tasked with watching them. Franklin comments that Gon reminds him of Uvogin, noting that both fight strongest for others. He adds that Uvogin, despite his rough exterior, was soft-hearted. Shalnark distributes flyers showing bodyguards working for Neon Nostrade. The group pairs up to find the Chain user. Since Nobunaga is staying behind, Machi is paired with Hisoka, much to her displeasure.

In a confined space, Nobunaga watches Gon and Killua. Gon holds his injured hand, while Killua recalls Hisoka's killing intent from earlier. A thought of Illumi crosses Killua's mind, reminding him not to fight if someone is stronger. Killua momentarily loses control, standing up and releasing a significant amount of aura. Nobunaga laughs, interpreting it as a challenge. Killua attempts to walk towards Nobunaga but freezes in a cold sweat, eventually retreating powerlessly. He punches a wall in anger, and Gon begins to think of an escape plan. Gon mentions something Zepile taught them when he notices Killua shaking. Killua offers himself as a decoy for Gon, but Nobunaga overhears their conversation and dismisses the idea. Killua realizes that with Nobunaga's sword, his range is twice as much as Killua's own. Illumi's words echo in Killua's mind again, but he still wants to try, until Gon punches him in the head. They argue about who has the right to sacrifice themselves, and Nobunaga starts to laugh. He tells them that as long as they don't cause trouble, they won't be harmed and can leave if Chrollo doesn't accept them.

Gon again mentions "side-stepping," giving both boys an idea. They charge their aura and rush towards Nobunaga, who prepares to attack them. Instead, both boys crash through the walls of the room in opposite directions. Nobunaga chases Gon but is tricked by a hole in the wall that leads nowhere. Both Gon and Killua use Zetsu, so Nobunaga uses En. Gon and Killua have already escaped, leaving the building and heading back to Yorknew City. They still want to defeat the group but realize they need to become much stronger. Killua tells Gon that Kurapika is the Chain user and suggests he is the best person to ask about the group.
