Hunter x Hunter Episode 60: End x and x Beginning

Kurapika and Melody leave Yorknew City by airship to continue their work with the Nostrade Family. Leorio sees them off and then meets with Gon and Killua, informing Gon of Kurapika's departure, which disappoints Gon as he didn't get to say goodbye. Leorio gives Gon his passbook, explaining that Zepile has recovered the hundred million Jenny as promised, allowing Gon to buy back his Hunter License. Zepile, sitting in a park, expresses amazement at the value of a Hunter License and decides to become a Hunter himself. Meanwhile, at the auction's building, Battera wins the last Greed Island game for 60.2 billion Jenny, having successfully acquired all seven copies. However, news reports indicate his first copy was stolen.

At a restaurant, Milluki eats to calm his anger while watching a TV reporter discuss Battera's acquisition of all seven Greed Island copies. The next day, Gon and Killua attend a screening for potential Greed Island players. Tsezguerra enters and explains the test procedure. After his explanation, a curtain on the stage lowers. Immediately, many people in the room form a line to enter the now-closed stage, while Gon and Killua, along with others, remain in their seats.

As Killua considers their next move, a man behind them comments that those in line are hopeless, explaining there's no rush to take the test. The man introduces himself as Puhat before leaving to take the test, and Killua follows him. Inside the test room, Tsezguerra is ready to judge. Killua asks to demonstrate his Hatsu instead of Ren, which the Hunter agrees to. Tsezguerra is amazed as Killua's Nen transforms into electricity, noting he learned it in just four days. Killua passes the test and proceeds to a waiting room with other successful candidates. Suddenly, a loud noise comes from the previous room. Tsezguerra sees a giant hole in the wall, caused by Gon, and appears scared of the two boys. Gon also passes the test. Tsezguerra enters the waiting room to explain the contract details and informs them they will depart at 5:00 pm.

After the test, Gon, Killua, and Leorio celebrate at a restaurant. Leorio then leaves to take an exam to become a doctor, with Gon and Killua bidding him farewell and expressing hope that he will be a real doctor when they next meet. At 5:00 pm, the boys travel by train to a mansion where all the Greed Island games are set up. After an explanation about the game, they decide the order of entry with a rock-paper-scissors match. Gon is the first to enter, while Killua ends up being the seventeenth. Gon puts on his ring and states he wants to use his own card. Upon entering the game, Eta welcomes him and explains some rules, including that the ring provides two spells: "Gain" and "Book." When Gon uses the "Book" spell, a book appears before him. Eta explains that the book has 100 restricted card slots, and to clear the game, he must collect all of them.

After the explanation, Gon is allowed to proceed. As he takes a step towards the game's entrance, Eta notifies him of a message from Ging saved in his ring and plays it. In the message, Ging reveals that he and his friends created Greed Island. He states that if Gon entered the game hoping to find clues about his whereabouts, he will be disappointed, adding that he only wanted to show off the game he made. Ging then tells Gon to enjoy playing. As the message ends, Gon walks down the stairs and takes his first steps onto the field at the Greed Island Starting Point.
