Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 30: That`s How It Is

In 2018, after completing a mission, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki part ways in the city. Yuji enthusiastically tries to convince Nobara to watch *Human Earthworm 4* with him, describing its absurd plot about a man turning into a human earthworm after eating one and showing her the trailer on his phone, but she declines and heads off shopping while Megumi returns to Jujutsu High with their driver Ijichi, commenting on the pair's high energy.

Meanwhile, at Jujutsu High, principal Masamichi Yaga meets with Satoru Gojo, who casually promotes Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki Zenin, Panda, and Toge Inumaki to first-grade sorcerer status despite their second-grade rankings, treating it like a ping-pong game as Yaga protests the irregularity.

Elsewhere, Kokichi Muta—known as Mechamaru—reveals himself as the mole who leaked information to the curse users Geto and Mahito via a binding vow, trading secrets for Mahito's Idle Transfiguration to heal his frail, bedridden body after 17 years of isolation. Having gathered intel on their Shibuya attack plans, Kokichi intends to warn Gojo; Mahito wants to kill him immediately, but Geto enforces the vow, forcing Mahito to restore Kokichi's body.

Kokichi summons multiple Mechamaru puppets to attack, but Mahito swiftly destroys them; Kokichi escapes and detonates a hidden bomb, though Mahito and Geto survive. Outside by a lake, Kokichi unleashes his ultimate invention: the colossal Mechamaru Mode: Absolute, piloted from within and powered by 17 years of stored cursed energy. He fires an Ultra Cannon blast using a full year's worth of energy in one shot, lamenting his slim odds but determined to contact Gojo with his recordings before Mahito defeats him. As the battle rages, Kokichi dies without succeeding in his warning.
