Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 40: Thunderclap

Megumi Fushiguro battles a mysterious, extraordinarily strong man wielding a chain and sword, who effortlessly massacres herds of Megumi's summoned rabbit shikigami and slams him repeatedly into buildings and cars with overwhelming physical power. Elsewhere, Kusakabe activates **New Shadow Style: Evening Moon Sword Drawing** against a curse user named Negi, but their standoff is interrupted when all lights in Shibuya shut off, followed by an explosion demolishing a building behind Negi.

Jogo, the volcano-headed cursed spirit, hallucinates reuniting with his deceased allies Hanami and Dagon, apologizing to them before Hanami reassures him that Mahito remains. As Jogo falls from the sky in Shibuya, Sukuna plummets after him; they clash in high-speed combat where Jogo blitzes but gets his foot trapped in Sukuna's shadow, throwing off his timing. Sukuna dominates hand-to-hand, blocks Jogo's strikes, severs his arms, then dodges a concentrated fire beam Jogo fires from the volcanic opening on his head, which burns through a building.

Sukuna grabs Jogo from behind, hurls him ricocheting off structures, and smashes his head with a hammer fist, sending him crashing through underground parking lots. Kusakabe notices the battle and tries to flee but is blocked by curse users; flames from the destroyed building gather into a massive meteor in the sky, pulling in debris and cars via gravity, created by Jogo to strike Sukuna, who gleefully slides away on an expressway. Megumi, gravely wounded, faces a final attack, but a brief flashback shows the man selling a young Megumi to the Zen'in Clan years ago; returning to the present, the man stabs himself in the head, sparing Megumi and departing the body.
