My Hero Academia Episode 101: Have a Merry Christmas!
It's Christmas at U.A. and the Class 1-A students celebrate with a Christmas party.
Full recap
The episode opens with the aftermath of the recent incident in Deika City, where the city is shown collapsing and being reduced to ruins as cracks spread through the area. Sometime later, Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki are interviewed in their dorms about their recent fight with villains, and the broadcast edits out much of Bakugo’s responses, leaving him visibly angry when the others see it later.
News coverage also discusses the tragedy in Deika City from nine days earlier, and Izuku Midoriya watches it on television. This sets up a broader shift in public attitudes and the pressure on young heroes to present themselves well in the media.
Back at U.A., Mt. Lady and Midnight arrive to give Class 1-A media training so the students can learn how to handle interviews and speak in front of cameras. The class practices answering questions and presenting their hero identities, with the lesson emphasizing that heroes need to be able to communicate clearly as part of the job. Bakugo’s earlier interview is treated as an example of what not to do, and the class gets a chance to watch and react to the awkwardness of his televised appearance.
The episode then reveals that the students’ hero work studies are being restarted, and the class learns that they will be going back into field training. This creates a practical problem for Izuku and Bakugo, since their previous placements are no longer available in the same way, forcing them to look for new agencies to work under. Shoto later suggests that Izuku and Bakugo join him at his father’s agency, setting up their next step in hero training.
In the second half, the tone shifts to Christmas celebration at U.A. Class 1-A gathers for a holiday party in the dorms, exchanging gifts and enjoying time together after the day’s more serious training and news coverage. The party is lively and festive, giving the students a rare chance to relax.
During the celebration, Eri is brought to the dorm party and joins in the holiday atmosphere. The episode ends on this warm note, with the class spending Christmas together and looking ahead to the next stage of their hero work studies.
