My Hero Academia Episode 100: The New Power and All for One
As the class battles conclude, Midoriya works with All Might and Bakugo on learning more about his new power.
Full recap
The episode follows three threads: Izuku trying to understand a new power he sensed during joint training, Aizawa testing a way to help Eri understand her own ability, and Bakugo and Todoroki taking their make-up provisional license exam and then stopping a group of thieves. By the end, Bakugo and Todoroki finally earn their provisional licenses, and the class celebrates their return.
Izuku, All Might, and Bakugo meet to discuss the strange power Izuku briefly experienced during the recent training battle. Izuku explains that he felt a black, whip-like force burst out of him at one point, but when they try to figure out what triggered it, he cannot make it happen again. All Might says he does not know any previous One For All users with that kind of power, and Bakugo grows increasingly frustrated with Izuku’s vague answers. Later, Bakugo attacks Izuku in the training room in an attempt to force the power to emerge again, while All Might tries to stop him because their goal is to keep the power from going out of control. Izuku eventually calms down and realizes the ability is not responding at all for the moment.
At the same time, Aizawa brings Monoma, Mirio, and Eri together to investigate Eri’s Quirk. The idea is to see whether Monoma can copy it and then help explain it to her in a safer way. Monoma tries, but nothing happens, and he concludes that he cannot duplicate her ability. Eri notices his disappointed reaction, and the scene leaves the question of how best to help her still unresolved.
The episode then shifts to Bakugo and Todoroki’s make-up provisional license exam. They are still being supervised and treated as students who need to pass this final hurdle before moving on, while their classmates remain at the dorms. During the test, both perform well enough to complete it successfully. On the way back, they ride with All Might when a small group of villains begins robbing civilians using water as part of their attack. All Might keeps bystanders safe, Todoroki freezes the water and immobilizes the criminals, and Bakugo restrains the thieves with controlled explosions. The group handles the situation quickly before a pro hero arrives, and All Might praises their work.
When Bakugo and Todoroki return to the dorms, their classmates throw them a celebration for finally passing and earning their provisional licenses. The episode ends on that note, with the class gathering to congratulate them.
