My Hero Academia Episode 27: Bizarre! Gran Torino Appears

Izuku arrives at Gran Torino's house, where the old man immediately acts strangely, pretending to be dead after falling with sausages and ketchup, and repeatedly asking Izuku's name before forgetting it. Concerned about Gran Torino's mental state, Izuku tries to call All Might, then notices Gran Torino examining his new hero costume.

Suddenly, Gran Torino's demeanor shifts to a serious tone, and he asks Izuku to try hitting him with a One For All Smash. He then reverts to his confused state, prompting Izuku to try to leave. Gran Torino stops him, using his Quirk to move rapidly around the room, and again challenges Izuku to use a smash. He criticizes Izuku's reckless Quirk usage during the Sports Festival and All Might's teaching methods. Izuku realizes Gran Torino was acting and connects his bizarre personality to All Might's, understanding that Gran Torino is All Might's former teacher.

Gran Torino continues to move quickly, striking Izuku from behind. Izuku eventually anticipates his movements and attempts a punch, but Gran Torino dodges, pins Izuku to the ground, and defeats him. Gran Torino tells Izuku that his admiration for All Might is hindering him and that his movements are too stiff despite understanding the Quirk's basics. He then leaves Izuku to buy food, and Izuku reflects on his advice.

In Hosu City, Tenya interns at Normal Hero: Manual's office. While patrolling, Tenya thinks about the Hero Killer and his intention to find him in Hosu. Elsewhere, Stain meets with Tomura and Kurogiri to discuss joining their group. Stain questions Tomura's motivations and is disappointed to learn Tomura simply wants to destroy those he dislikes. Kurogiri prepares to intervene, but his master instructs him to let Tomura learn from the interaction.

Back at Gran Torino's apartment, Izuku considers Gran Torino's words and realizes he needs to treat One For All as an extension of himself rather than just a tool for special moves. Gran Torino, eavesdropping, muses about Izuku's potential. In Tokyo, Katsuki arrives at Best Jeanist's Hero Agency. Best Jeanist expresses his dislike for Katsuki's attitude despite his talent. Katsuki is irritated by the lecture and tries to approach him, but Best Jeanist restrains him with his Quirk, stating he will transform Katsuki into an exemplary hero.

At Fourth Kind's Hero Agency, Eijiro and Tetsutetsu discover they are both interning there. Ochaco trains with Battle Hero: Gunhead, and Momo interns with Itsuka at Snake Hero: Uwabami's agency. Kyoka trains with Death Arms, Minoru works for Mt. Lady, and Tsuyu appears to be working with the Navy. Shoto interns with his father's agency, and Endeavor tells him they are going out to work in the city.

That night, Gran Torino falls asleep after eating. Izuku goes into an alleyway to practice using One For All more fluidly. He repeatedly fails to scale the alley. By morning, Gran Torino finds him exhausted. Gran Torino explains that All Might could use One For All from the start and only needed combat training, so Izuku's training will be different. He is surprised that All Might hasn't told Izuku about the Seventh Holder of One For All. They receive a new microwave in the mail, replacing the one broken during the previous day's training.

Gran Torino instructs Izuku to heat food, but Izuku messes it up by not allowing the food to rotate in the microwave. After Gran Torino scolds him for ruining the frozen pastries, Izuku connects the food to himself. He realizes that, like the pastries, he needs to distribute One For All's energy evenly throughout his body. Gran Torino watches as Izuku continuously spreads One For All's power through his body, impressed by his quick understanding of the symbolic lesson. Gran Torino then challenges Izuku to a rematch using his newly developed ability, Full Cowl.
