My Hero Academia Episode 60: A Talk About Your Quirk

Season 3· canon

While the U.A. students finish up the provisional licensing exam and get their results, All Might has a talk with All For One.

Full recap

The Provisional Hero License Exam concludes, and the results are posted. A man named Yokumiru Mera explains a demerit system was used to judge the students. Most of Class 1-A, including Izuku, passes the exam. However, Katsuki and Shoto, two top students from Class 1-A, fail. Another student, Inasa, also fails and apologizes to Shoto, slamming his head on the ground.

Other students express surprise that Katsuki and Shoto failed. A student named Minoru attempts to taunt them but is stopped by Tenya. Commission officers distribute sheets detailing each student's performance. Yokumiru addresses the students who passed, informing them their new licenses allow them to act as heroes in emergencies. He then tells the failed students they can still obtain licenses by attending a three-month remedial course.

Izuku receives his provisional license and cries tears of joy, seeing it as proof of his growth. A woman named Ms. Joke bids farewell to a man named Shota and suggests their classes hold a joint practice session. Students from Shiketsu High School depart, and Inasa tells Shoto he will see him at the remedial course, adding that he still dislikes Shoto and apologizes for it. Izuku asks a Shiketsu student named Nagamasa about another Shiketsu student named Camie's "disappearing techniques." Nagamasa replies that their students do not train in such techniques and that Camie left the test early because she felt unwell.

Camie walks down a secluded alleyway, and her appearance melts away, revealing a different person. This person, who was impersonating Camie, calls someone named Mr. Compress on the phone. Mr. Compress reminds her not to miss her check-ups. The impersonator says she had fun and that her prize will make someone named Tomura happy.

Earlier, a man named All Might meets with a villain in Tartarus Prison. The villain, named All For One, taunts All Might about his retirement and imprisonment. All Might asks about Tomura's location and All For One's motives. All For One claims All Might will never be satisfied by his answers, stating he wishes to be the king of evil just as All Might wants to be the symbol of peace. He chose Tomura as his successor because All Might destroyed everything he had.

All For One speculates that society is uneasy about All Might's retirement, and that villains will rise to change society, ultimately fighting for control while heroes crumble. All Might responds that he will not allow All For One's vision to be realized and will not be killed by Tomura. As All Might and a man named Naomasa leave Tartarus, All Might receives a photo message from Izuku about his provisional license.

That night, as Class 1-A prepares for regular classes the next day, Katsuki confronts Izuku and tells him to meet outside. Once everyone is asleep, Katsuki leads Izuku to Ground Beta, where they had their first combat training. Katsuki states he has figured out that All Might and All For One both have the ability to pass on Quirks.

Izuku had previously admitted to Katsuki that he received his Quirk from somewhere else. Katsuki concludes that Izuku has become All Might's successor due to Izuku's reaction to All Might's last message at the end of the Kamino Incident. Izuku does not deny it, stating he knew Katsuki would ask after their confrontation in the dorms. Believing All Might has acknowledged Izuku over him, Katsuki suggests they fight.
