My Hero Academia Episode 72: Red Riot

The episode opens with **Suneater** finishing off the three enemies he has been fighting, restraining them and leaving them immobilized with octopus neurotoxin, but the effort drains him so much that he collapses and cannot continue with the others.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group pushes deeper into the Shie Hassaikai hideout while staying alert for the enemy who has been manipulating the building itself. One of the heroes learns more about the organization’s name and background, including that it was chosen to reflect the boss’s desire for integrity rather than imitation.

The enemy who controls the walls and floors then springs a trap that separates **Aizawa** from the others, but **Fat Gum** steps in and ends up getting separated with **Kirishima** instead. The two of them are dropped into a different part of the hideout where they are confronted by two dangerous opponents: one fighter who specializes in overwhelming offense with powerful punches, and another who creates an exceptionally tough defensive barrier.

The fight quickly turns brutal. The offensive fighter lands heavy blows that start cracking Kirishima’s hardened body, and the pair realize they are up against enemies who are built to break them down. As Kirishima endures the beating, the episode shifts into a flashback to his younger years, when he felt weak, jealous, and unsure of himself because he could not act the way he wanted to in dangerous situations.

In the flashback, he remembers a moment in which he hesitated while another student rushed in to help someone, and he felt ashamed that he had stayed frozen. He later hears an inspiring message from a pro hero he deeply admires, which reframes courage for him: even someone brave can be scared and still choose to move forward. That message becomes the turning point that leads him to train harder, change himself, and pursue the hero path with a new determination.

Back in the present, Kirishima pushes through the pain and steels himself, deciding not to back down even though his arms are cracking under the enemy’s attacks. He takes the battle back into his own hands and rises to a new level of resolve, setting up the confrontation that defines the episode’s climax.
