My Hero Academia Episode 73: Temp Squad

Season 4· canon

The Hassaikai gets some help from the League of Villains as the heroes continue to make their way to Chisaki to rescue Eri.

Full recap

The episode opens in the aftermath of the battle underground, where the wounded fighter’s struggle with Fat Gum and Kirishima comes to an end with an uneasy truce. He acknowledges the strength of his opponents and, after the fight, reveals that Overhaul’s broader plan is still moving forward.

Elsewhere in the Hassaikai hideout, Overhaul and Chronostasis continue advancing their operation while the heroes and police press deeper into the building. Overhaul explains that the group can still recover and regain power if the overall plan succeeds, and he prepares to use outside help to slow the intruders down.

That help turns out to be **Himiko Toga** and **Twice**, who have been brought in as temporary allies. The episode shows that they are not truly part of the Hassaikai, but are instead working under a temporary arrangement that benefits Overhaul’s side for the moment.

A flashback explains how this deal was made. Overhaul met with the League of Villains and asked for a show of trust before cooperating, requesting two members in particular. Shigaraki reluctantly agreed to lend them out, and the episode makes clear that the arrangement was tense from the start.

Back in the present, Toga and Twice move to carry out their assigned task: slowing down the heroes. Toga ambushes one of the hero group’s front-line fighters, attacks him with a knife, and uses her ability to imitate others to confuse the battlefield.

The hero side quickly realizes that the enemy presence is larger and more coordinated than expected. As the fighting spreads through the corridors, Aizawa and Midoriya are drawn into the chaos, and the episode reveals that Toga was already familiar to Midoriya from their earlier encounter during the provisional license exam.

At the same time, Twice creates copies to support the attack, and the heroes struggle to keep control of the narrowing passageways. The hideout itself becomes part of the threat, with the shifting structure and environmental hazards making it harder for the heroes and police to advance safely.

The episode ends with the temporary alliance fully in motion: the Hassaikai and the League of Villains are cooperating just enough to obstruct the heroes, while Toga and Twice throw the battlefield into greater disorder and the heroes are forced to adapt to the new threat.
