My Hero Academia Episode 80: Relief for License Trainees

The episode splits between a bizarre practical lesson for the license trainees and a quieter return to U.A. life. First, Bakugo, Todoroki, Inasa, and Camie are taken to a school where a group of elementary students with unusually strong Quirks test them with a chaotic attack, only for the trainees to realize the point is not to crush the children but to connect with them and earn their trust.

At the school, the children launch a series of playful but intense Quirk assaults, and Bakugo, Todoroki, and Inasa respond by defending themselves without hurting anyone. The kids are surprised that their attacks do not frighten the trainees, and after the child who seems to be leading the group speaks up, the children try again with renewed energy. One girl specifically targets Todoroki with her Queen Beam Quirk, but she ends up captivated by him instead. This leads to the reveal that the “Shoto” the children were interacting with was actually an illusion created by Camie using her Glamour Quirk. Rather than defeating the children, the trainees win them over by engaging with them naturally and broadening their perspectives without damaging their confidence.

After that, the episode moves to U.A., where everyday school life resumes as the atmosphere calms down. Aoyama acts strangely, including offering cheese to Deku in an oddly intense way. Deku later notices cheese arranged outside his window in a message that says “I know,” which makes him uneasy because it suggests Aoyama was outside his room at night. During a training lesson, Aoyama becomes sick from using his Quirk, and Deku uses the opportunity to ask him about the incident. Aoyama explains that he did not realize how unsettling the gesture seemed and that he only meant it as a surprise for Deku.
