My Hero Academia Episode 83: Gold Tips Imperial
Eri visits U.A. while the students are preparing for the school festival, and Gentle finalizes his plans.
Full recap
Class 1-A is in the middle of intense school festival preparations, splitting into performance groups for the band, stage effects, and dance, with the students working hard to polish their act. Eri then arrives at U.A. for a visit, and Mirio and Izuku take turns showing her around so she can get used to the school and the people in it before the festival begins.
The episode spends much of its time on Eri’s introduction to the school. She meets Class 1-A, watches the students practicing, and slowly starts to relax as she sees everyone putting so much effort into the festival. Aizawa explains that the school has approved her attendance, but she should arrive early because a crowd that large could be overwhelming for someone who has been isolated for so long.
Izuku, meanwhile, is caught up in the festival production work. He is initially part of the dance team, where Mina is drilling the choreography, but he is later moved into the effects team to help coordinate Yuga as a moving disco-ball-style stage effect after Koji suggests improving the gimmick. The episode also shows Izuku continuing his finger training with All Might, who approves his use of support items during practice.
Outside the student preparations, the episode briefly shifts to the larger threat hanging over the festival. Nezu refuses a police request to cancel the event, instead choosing heightened security and an immediate shutdown if anything seems suspicious. At the same time, Gentle Criminal and La Brava are shown finalizing their plan to infiltrate U.A., with La Brava using her hacking skills to interfere with the school’s sensors while the two reaffirm their feelings for each other.
The episode closes with the festival preparations still underway and the danger outside U.A. quietly moving into place, leaving the school and Eri’s hopeful visit on a collision course with the upcoming event.
