My Hero Academia Episode 84: Deku vs. Gentle Criminal

Class 1-A is in the final stretch of preparing for the school festival, with everyone focused on making the performance work smoothly. Izuku notices that the rope needed for the performance has become frayed, so he plans to buy a replacement first thing the next morning.

Early the next morning, Izuku trains with Toshinori Yagi before going to receive the support gear he requested from Mei Hatsume, who brings him a pair of gloves designed to help him handle the force of his attacks more safely. After that, he rushes out to buy the rope for the festival.

On his way back, Izuku runs into a strangely dressed man and his companion outside a café. Izuku quickly realizes that the man is Gentle Criminal, a villain he has already seen in a video, and also understands that Gentle is planning to sneak into U.A. during the festival.

Izuku immediately confronts him, and the two clash in the street. Gentle uses his power to make objects and even the air elastic, which lets him deflect and outmaneuver Izuku while his companion, La Brava, records everything. Their fight escalates as Izuku pursues them through the area and into a construction site.

Inside the construction zone, Gentle drops a heavy beam in a way that puts a civilian in danger. Izuku abandons his chance to attack and instead leaps in to catch the beam before it can crush the person below. Gentle uses the moment to keep moving toward U.A., while Izuku is forced to hold the beam up with one arm and strike back with the other, showing how hard he is pushing himself to stop the intruders.

The episode ends with the confrontation unresolved, leaving Izuku still fighting to protect the festival and prevent Gentle from reaching the school.
