One-Punch Man Episode 16: Metal Bat

Garou wakes up after his earlier defeat with only a hazy memory of what happened, then meets Tareo again and spots signs that make him interested in finding Watchdog Man and Metal Bat.

Saitama has entered the Super Fight martial arts tournament under the name **Charanko** and is checking the roster when Sour Face, a former disciple of Bang, confronts him and says he wants to win the tournament to become famous like Bang.

At the Hero Association, the S-Class heroes are being used as bodyguards to protect important officials from monster attacks, and Metal Bat is assigned to guard Narinki, a Hero Association sponsor, and Narinki’s son Waganma while they sit at a restaurant in S-City.

Metal Bat is annoyed by the babysitting duty, especially because it keeps him from watching his little sister’s piano performance, but he keeps watch over the pair while they eat.

A pair of monsters, Junior Centipede and Venus Mantrap, attacks the restaurant area, but Metal Bat quickly kills them.

Another centipede-type monster appears, followed by a monster that releases sleeping gas, and the gas knocks out Narinki and Waganma.

Metal Bat takes repeated punishment during the fight, but after being pushed to the limit he strikes himself in the head with his bat, which seems to fire him up and lets him recover enough to defeat the two monsters with powerful blows.

Even after that, the danger escalates when a massive centipede monster attacks, forcing Metal Bat into a much more serious battle.

During the chaos, two local heroes take Narinki and Waganma away, and Metal Bat is knocked close to Garou.

Garou, thinking Metal Bat may be dead at first, then realizes he is still alive and decides to fight him instead of immediately leaving to search for Watchdog Man.

Metal Bat initially refuses to fight Garou, but he barely blocks Garou’s first attack, and the episode ends with the two of them facing off.
