Prison Break Episode 18: Bluff

Michael gets himself transferred to the psychiatric ward so he can reach Haywire, the only person who might remember the missing piece of the tattooed prison blueprint, but Haywire is too heavily medicated at first to help.

Michael repeatedly tries to jog Haywire’s memory, eventually forcing him to vomit up his pills so he can think more clearly. Once Haywire starts remembering, he recognizes Michael and is able to recreate the missing section of the tattoo on paper, but he refuses to give it up until Michael tells him what the “path” is for. Michael says the escape starts from the basement of the psych ward, and Haywire hands over the drawing. That night, Haywire uses one of the copies he made, heads toward the basement door, and sets off the alarm when he tries to go through it, realizing too late that Michael has tricked him again.

Back in general population, Bellick and Geary discover that Michael and Sucre’s empty cell can be sold off, so they decide to auction it to the highest bidder. T-Bag overhears the plan and warns the others, since losing the cell would endanger the escape setup. To protect the plan, C-Note and T-Bag end up in a poker game over the cell, while the others scramble to keep the room from falling into the wrong hands.

Michael also works with the others’ broader plan to get help from the prison administration. In the episode, he tells Warden Pope that Geary burned his back, prompting Pope to check Geary’s locker. The episode also shows Lincoln dealing with problems involving his son, while the prison escape team continues trying to keep their plan alive under increasing pressure.
