Mahone tries to lure the escapees by targeting an imprisoned LJ. Michael and Lincoln come up with a plan to free LJ from jail. Sucre, Abruzzi and C-Note have a plan of their own, but only to break free of their pursuers.Meanwhile, Bellick and Warden Pope feel the heat following their unsuccessful attempts to capture the escapees.Tweener infiltrates a bunch of college students on their way to spring break.

Lincoln reads about L.J.’s court hearing and becomes determined to get his son out of custody. He and Michael decide to abandon their current plan and go to Chicago to rescue L.J., while the other fugitives split off on their own paths.
At the courthouse, L.J. is being questioned by an FBI agent who tries to pressure him into cooperating and betraying Michael and Lincoln, but L.J. refuses. The agent keeps L.J. under close guard, which blocks the rescue attempt and forces Michael and Lincoln to rethink their approach.
Meanwhile, the remaining escapees separate from Michael and Lincoln. T-Bag kills Dr. Gudat after getting his hand attached, then dyes his hair and leaves using the veterinarian’s car. Tweener poses as a college student and gets a ride toward Utah. In prison, Warden Pope and Captain Bellick are hauled before a justice commission hearing over the escape; Geary accuses Bellick of selling Prison Industries to Abruzzi, Bellick is fired, and Pope is suspended and resigns.
