Prison Break Episode 23: Manhunt

The fugitives spend the morning after their escape trying to outrun Bellick and his men, then pick up a vehicle from a hunter after a tense confrontation in the woods. At the same time, the FBI assigns Agent Alexander Mahone to the case, and he quickly starts closing in by studying Michael’s trail and the clues hidden in his tattoos.

Michael, Lincoln, Abruzzi, C-Note, and Sucre are still being chased when they reach a freight train and use it to put distance between themselves and the police. They then encounter a hunter and his young daughter; when the hunter threatens them with a gun, Abruzzi takes the girl hostage long enough to force the man to hand over his Jeep, and the group drives off.

Mahone holds a press conference and urges the public to report the “Fox River 8,” making the manhunt a nationwide effort. He also examines Michael’s recent movements and realizes that one of the tattoo clues points not to the storage facility Michael visited in Oswego, but to a cemetery where Michael buried supplies in a grave marked for E. Chance Woods.

Michael and the others reach the burial site and recover what Michael had hidden there, but Mahone arrives almost immediately afterward, showing that he has understood the clue. The episode ends with the escapees still under pressure, and Mahone clearly a step behind but closing in.

T-Bag, traveling separately, finds a veterinary clinic and forces the vet to sew his severed hand back on without anesthesia. Meanwhile, Sara survives her overdose and wakes up in the hospital, where she finds an origami swan in her purse with a message from Michael and a coded set of numbers.

Veronica also makes a major breakthrough when she finds Terrance Steadman in Montana, only to discover that he is trapped inside the house and cannot get out. She calls 911 and then tells Lincoln what she has found, but Company agents arrive and kill her while she is still on the line with him.
