Prison Break Episode 22: Flight

Michael, Lincoln, Sucre, Abruzzi, T-Bag, C-Note, Haywire, and Tweener are all in motion after the escape, trying to get clear of Fox River before the prison and police can catch them. The episode follows their frantic run to Abruzzi’s waiting van, the collapse of that plan, the split between the prisoners, and several parallel storylines outside the prison that close in on the escape’s fallout.

The escapees reach the van that Abruzzi’s men have arranged, and Michael breaks the vehicle’s lights so they can drive without being seen. Abruzzi tricks Haywire into checking a trash can for the keys, but the keys are actually on him, and the group leaves Haywire behind. T-Bag realizes Abruzzi is likely to kill him, so he handcuffs himself to Michael to avoid being abandoned, forcing Michael to take him along. The van later gets stuck, so the group is forced to continue on foot.

As they keep moving, Michael tells Tweener to leave the group because Tweener betrayed them by informing on the escape. Tweener protests, but Michael stands by the decision, and Tweener eventually breaks away on his own. Meanwhile, Haywire steals a bicycle from a child and rides off alone.

Back at Fox River, Warden Pope discovers that the infirmary door used in the escape was not forced open, which makes him suspect that someone on the inside helped. He questions the staff connected to the infirmary, and the trail leads him toward Sara Tancredi’s involvement and her feelings for Michael. Sara’s situation becomes more serious when police arrive at her apartment and find her overdosed.

Outside the prison, Veronica reaches Montana looking for evidence that could prove Lincoln’s innocence. There, she finds a crucial piece of information tying into the larger conspiracy. At the same time, the Vice President learns that her support has been pulled and that her position is slipping away.

The escapees’ final push becomes desperate. They reach the airstrip only to see the plane departing without them. As police cars close in, the remaining fugitives run for cover and disappear into the surrounding field and trees.
