Rick and Morty Episode 3: Anatomy Park

Morty is pulled into two separate holiday disasters at once: Rick shrinks him and sends him into the body of a homeless man to help with a tiny theme park called **Anatomy Park**, while Jerry tries to force the family into a device-free Christmas visit with his parents. Inside the man’s body, Morty has to survive a park full of escaping diseases as the family gathering at home gets increasingly awkward and humiliating.

Rick begins the episode by checking on a homeless man named **Reuben**, who is being used as the living host for Anatomy Park, a microscopic amusement park inside his body. Rick shrinks Morty and sends him into Reuben so Morty can help deal with the crisis inside. Morty lands in the park and meets its staff, including **Dr. Xenon Bloom**, **Poncho**, **Alexander**, and **Annie**. The park has gone badly wrong: dangerous diseases have escaped their enclosures and are running loose through Reuben’s body.

Morty and the park staff start moving through the body to escape the hazards, first fleeing toward the lungs while trying to stay ahead of the infections. Along the way, Morty begins bonding with Annie, who is initially more focused on survival than on him. The group soon learns that Reuben is infected with **tuberculosis**, and Rick is trying to cure him from outside. Before Rick can complete the treatment, Reuben dies, which makes the already unstable situation much worse and traps everyone inside a decomposing body full of run-amok diseases.

As the escape continues, the body becomes increasingly dangerous and chaotic, and several park workers die trying to get out. **Alexander** is killed during the flight from the diseases. **Poncho** is later revealed to have sabotaged things by giving Reuben the tuberculosis, and he ends up dying as well when he is attacked by bubonic plague. Morty and Annie survive longer than the others, and their shared ordeal turns into a growing romantic connection.

The survivors eventually learn they need to reach Reuben’s right nipple to escape by a train route running through the body, and Dr. Bloom gets devoured by **E. coli** while trying to get them there. Rick then resorts to an extreme rescue plan: he enlarges Reuben’s body to a massive size and then detonates it to get Morty and Annie out. Morty and Annie make it back to Earth alive, and Rick later shrinks Annie for a future experiment.

While all this is happening, Jerry is trying to make Christmas “human” and family-focused by banning electronics for the visit from his parents. His plan falls apart when his parents arrive with **Jacob**, a man Jerry had not expected to be part of the holiday. Jerry realizes, to his discomfort, that Jacob is romantically involved with his mother and father in a three-way relationship. The rest of the family accepts the situation more easily than Jerry does, which only makes him more frustrated and insecure.

Summer’s boyfriend **Ethan** also shows up and is angry that she has been ignoring her electronics, leading to a brief confrontation before things settle down. By the end of the episode, the family’s Christmas has become a mix of awkward relationship drama and forced bonding, with Jerry especially shaken by what his parents have revealed about their lives.
