Rick and Morty Episode 46: Amortycan Grickfitti

Beth notices that Rick and Jerry have been secretly going on “guy’s night” together, and she becomes suspicious when Rick insists it has been happening for a while. Rick and Jerry go out to a bar with a group of demonic-looking beings who seem to enjoy Jerry’s awkwardness and embarrassing behavior, while Rick acts as if this is all normal. Beth follows them, confronts the situation, and initially reacts with frustration at Rick’s treatment of Jerry, but she is also drawn in by the attention and flattery from the demons. Meanwhile, with the house to themselves, Morty and Summer focus on the new student at their school, Bruce Chutback, and decide to impress him.

Morty and Summer invite Bruce over, hoping to win his friendship before he gets taken in by cooler kids. To make the evening exciting, they steal Rick’s flying saucer and take Bruce on a wild joyride. Bruce seems more interested in the spaceship than in the teens themselves, so Summer and Morty push the outing further to keep his attention. The group’s reckless trip escalates into chaos in space, including a dangerous pass through a black hole and a stop on an alien world where Summer acts out a destructive prank on the locals.

Back on Rick’s side of the story, the demons’ arrangement is revealed to be tied to a debt Rick owes them. Jerry has been used as the source of embarrassment and discomfort that the demons enjoy, and the whole “guy’s night” has been part of paying that debt. Beth’s involvement complicates the situation, especially once the demons’ behavior shifts from amused teasing to open hostility. The episode culminates in the fallout from both night outings: the teens’ stolen-ship adventure turns increasingly dangerous, and Rick, Beth, and Jerry’s hellish night becomes a messy confrontation with the beings Rick has been trying to appease.
