Silo Episode 6: The Relic

Season 1· aired 2023-06-01

During her investigation, Juliette uncovers disturbing secrets about someone she thought she knew.

Full recap

Juliette Nichols pushes forward with the murder investigation by using a planted relic to force Judicial to open a broader relics case, and the episode gradually turns that move into a much deeper look at George Wilkins, forbidden objects, and the people quietly watching the Silo. She also uncovers information that makes her question what she thought she knew about George, while the episode ends by showing that someone is monitoring her from behind the scenes.

Juliette starts the episode remembering her time with George, then brings Deputy Paul Billings with her to search Douglas Trumbull’s apartment for clues connected to the murders. During the search, Billings finds a Pez dispenser relic hidden in the apartment, and Juliette uses that discovery to press Judge Meadows into approving an official relics investigation. The episode makes clear that Juliette arranged for the relic to be found there so she could create leverage and keep digging into the larger mystery.

Once the relic investigation is underway, Juliette follows the trail to Regina Jackson, a woman connected to George’s past. Their conversation gives Juliette a new perspective on George and on how deeply he was involved with relics and other forbidden things. Regina also points Juliette toward more information about George’s missing hard drive, which becomes another important thread in the episode.

At the same time, Juliette and Billings continue to clash over trust and procedure. Juliette realizes Billings has a medical condition that should disqualify him from serving as deputy, and she confronts him about it. Their working relationship becomes more complicated, even as they keep cooperating on the case.

Robert Sims becomes involved after learning that the recovered relic is tied to George. He digs into records and grows suspicious of Juliette’s actions, while Judicial’s leadership tolerates the investigation only within limits. The episode shows that Juliette’s stunt has gotten the attention she wanted, but also that it has placed her under closer scrutiny.

The episode also includes several quieter discoveries and recurring images that deepen the mystery: Juliette’s memories of George, the continued importance of relics as forbidden objects, and hints that the Silo’s official rules are being selectively enforced. By the end, Juliette is reading a relic while unseen observers watch her from a control room, making it clear that her investigation has reached a level that powerful people are tracking closely.
