Full recap
Spartacus and his forces are forced out of Sinuessa after Crassus’ assault, and Gannicus is left behind to buy them time while the Romans take the city. Caesar’s use of inside help helps the Romans break in and secure a swift victory, while Spartacus orders an emergency retreat as the rebels try to escape through the northern gate.
Gannicus fights through Roman troops in the streets to slow their advance, then ends up separated from the main rebel group inside the occupied city with Sibyl. While hiding from Roman patrols, the two try to find a safe way out as the Romans search the city for surviving rebels.
Crassus turns his attention to dividing up the spoils of the victory and stages celebrations for Caesar’s success, despite Tiberius being ordered to preside over the ceremony. Tiberius resents being sidelined and remains bitter toward Caesar throughout the episode, especially as Caesar continues to earn praise for his role in the battle.
Meanwhile, the pirate Heracleo demands payment for his role in the betrayal, including gold and Laeta, whom Crassus hands over as part of the spoils. Later, Gannicus finds Heracleo and kills him, then helps Laeta escape.
The Romans also stage a public execution of captured rebels as part of the victory celebrations, with Tiberius trying to assert himself during the spectacle. Caesar again comes out ahead in the confrontation, deepening Tiberius’ jealousy and frustration.
By the end of the episode, Gannicus makes his way back to the rebels after escaping the city, and the group realizes they are now trapped on the mountain ridge with the Romans controlling the route ahead. The episode closes with the rebels facing bleak conditions and a tightening Roman trap.
