Ted Lasso Episode 13: Do the Right-est Thing

Rebecca spends much of the episode looking after **Nora**, her goddaughter, while Nora’s mother is away, and the two slowly warm up to each other after an initially awkward start. At AFC Richmond, **Jamie Tartt** returns to the club, but the players are openly hostile and reject his attempts to apologize for how he treated them before.

The team is still trying to break a streak of draws as they prepare for a match against Coventry City. Ted sees that Jamie’s return is disrupting the squad, so he uses his exaggerated “**Led Tasso**” persona to become intentionally abrasive and draw the players’ frustration onto himself, which helps channel their energy back toward unity.

Meanwhile, **Sam Obisanya** is excited about participating in a Dubai Air advertising campaign for the club’s sponsor, but after texting his father he learns that Dubai Air is owned by **Cerithium Oil**, a company tied to an oil spill and environmental damage in Nigeria. Sam is deeply shaken by this and decides he cannot continue with the campaign.

Rebecca supports Sam’s decision, but when she contacts Cerithium’s CEO, **Richard Cole**, he demands that she fire Sam instead. Rebecca refuses to betray Sam, even under pressure from the sponsor.

Before the match, Sam covers the Dubai Air logo on his kit with black tape in protest. The gesture inspires the rest of the team, including Jamie, to do the same, turning a personal stand into a collective act. The move angers Cole but earns public approval.

After the game, Ted gives Sam the chance to speak at the press conference, where Sam voices his objections to the company’s actions and to the Nigerian government’s role in the situation. Back in the locker room, the team celebrates ending the draw streak, Jamie raises a toast to Sam’s courage, and Sam finally accepts Jamie as a teammate.
