Full recap

After days of imprisonment, Eren is brought before a military tribunal in a packed courtroom to determine his fate—whether he will be executed or accepted into the Scout Regiment.

News of a soldier who can transform into a Titan has spread throughout Wall Sina, creating division among the population. The wealthy fear that retaking Wall Maria will bring refugees and resource scarcity, while the downtrodden view Eren as a savior offering hope. The decision about Eren's future rests with Premier Dhalis Zachary, who must weigh whether Eren's Titan powers are beneficial or dangerous to humanity.

During the tribunal, two factions present opposing arguments. Commander Erwin of the Scout Regiment proposes using Eren's powers to reclaim Wall Maria, while a Military Police commander and priest of the church argue for Eren's execution, suggesting he be honored as a fallen warrior. A merchant advocates for reinforcing the gates, but the priest insists the walls are sacred and must not be altered.

When questioned, Eren claims he can control his Titan powers. However, reports from the Trost District reveal that after transforming, Eren threatened Mikasa's life. When asked to confirm this, Mikasa reluctantly does so, shocking the courtroom, though she quickly adds that Eren has saved her twice while in Titan form.

The Military Police then reveal that Eren and Mikasa killed three robbers in self-defense during their childhood, using this as evidence that both are untrustworthy and potentially dangerous. Some in the courtroom begin to suspect Mikasa herself might be a Titan.

Frustrated by the accusations, Eren insists everyone is acting out of selfish interests and calls them cowards, demanding they either support him as a weapon against the Titans or admit their cowardice. Before the situation can escalate further, Levi brutally beats Eren, stating that pain is the best lesson, while the Military Police fear Eren might transform.
